Gratitude & Giving

Wish you all a very happy 2011! May it be filled with love, peace and happiness.

I want to start my new year by giving thanks. Giving thanks to everyone and everything in my life for each of us have a vital role to play in each other’s existence. So let’s spend 2 minutes in silence thanking all the humble beings and creations of nature, family, friends, God, etc..whomever you may want to express your gratitude to, just think of them.

I was one of the few lucky ones who got to hear the Buddhist monk Rev. Heng Sure speak on the 3 kinds of giving. According to many eastern cultures, by practicing the 3 kinds of givings, we can accrue blessings of good karma.

Here are the 3 kinds of blessings we can practice as often as possible:
1. Giving of wealth
2. Giving of courage/fearlessness
3. Giving of Dharma (dharma could be of any faith or philosophy, leading one on a path of righteousness.)

As for me, I will also practice the giving of thanks! So I begin my new year by thanking you all for being a part of my life.

I wish you all happiness and fulfilled wishes for this year and many more years to come.
