First Hike Of the Year

It’s a bit late tonight as I write my post for the day… have had a busy weekend finishing chores at home and trying to get out to enjoy some sunshine and warmth which is unusual at this time of the year for Northern California residents.ย  This weekend the temperatures during the day time (noon to 3ish) was around 70 degree Fahrenheit (~21 deg Celsius) . So, I was out and about during the day. Got together with a few friends and hiked about 6 miles, Sunday morning…surrounded by some hills, trees and cute lil banana slugs. It felt so good to get out and enjoy the warmth, exercise and time with friends. During the winter months, it’s really hard to get out of bed and go out for a run, but I am so glad I did! Now, that I’ve got the ball rolling, hopefully every weekend will include either a run or a hike.

One doesn’t have to go too far to enjoy the beauty in every day things… slowing down a bit and taking a few moments is all that is required to see art and beauty in everyday things…That is what puts the “extra” in extraordinary. I took some pictures from my phone… sharing the beauty with you. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Happy Monday! =)
