Hike In The Pinnacles

The Pinnacles National Park is located about 90 minutes east of San Jose (it’s right in my backyard) 😉

A few of weekends ago I was browsing the internet to find a new hiking place and I stumbled upon the Pinnacles. I was quite pleasantly surprised to find out that it was so close to where I live.

It was fun hike, started out at 10:30am. The total hike was about 12 miles (round trip). We covered about 2/3 different hikes. The funnest part was losing our way back to the car! It was about 8:40pm when we realized that what we thought was the parking lot where our car was parked was actually not the one. Luckily since it is summer and then sun sets late, there was enough light. In the end we figured out where our car was. We finally got back into the city at around 10:45 pm.

Here are some pictures from the hike (more pictures on my photo blog):

En Route - Sprinklers (# 2)

Me - hiking up the rocks! 🙂

Pinnacles - # 1

Hiking up to the "Condor Outlook"

Having fun on the hike - Yay! 🙂

After a good hike - Examining the nasty bites left by the new shoe. The last 5 miles of the hike were PAINFUL!
